SERAIKELA – Police have arrested Birbal Sardar, the mastermind of the infamous Sonu Sardar murder case in Gamharia, along with his associate Ravi Mahato. Both have been sent to judicial custody. Previously, five other accused were also taken into custody in connection with the case.
Surrender and Arrests
Another accused, Lakhi Charan Nayak, surrendered in court during the ongoing investigation. Seraikela-Kharsawan SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat disclosed this at a press conference on Tuesday, highlighting the latest developments.
Motive Behind the Crime
According to SP Lunayat, the murder stemmed from a dispute over a land deal. This conflict led to the premeditated killing of Sonu Sardar. The arrests mark significant progress in unravelling the conspiracy.
