JAMSHEDPUR – Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has demanded strict action against illegal encroachments in Sakchi market area.
The market witnesses severe congestion daily. “Footpaths have been completely taken over by illegal vendors,” a local shopkeeper stated.
Market Conditions
Sakchi market, the city’s largest shopping hub, faces critical space constraints. Moreover, auto-rickshaw stands and cart vendors have occupied entrance points.
Safety Concerns
Pick-pocketing and chain-snatching incidents have increased significantly. Furthermore, families have started avoiding the market due to security concerns.
Administrative Action
Previous anti-encroachment drives proved temporary. “Vendors return within days of removal,” explained Chamber Vice-President Abhishek Agarwal Goldy.
The Chamber has threatened to launch protests with other trade organizations. Additionally, they’ve requested JNAC for immediate intervention in the matter.
