RANCHI – BJP state president Babulal Marandi has expressed deep concern over the worsening law and order situation in the Guddi area of West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. Intense clashes between the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) and Maoist groups, fueled by disputes over illegal opium and cannabis cultivation as well as sand mining, have created an alarming environment for locals.
Marandi revealed that around 22 people have been reported missing, with over 10 individuals killed in the escalating conflict. A recent murder of an Odisha resident has further intensified fears in the region. He mentioned on his social media handle X that a disturbing video of the murder was too graphic to share publicly but is available for authorities to investigate.
The BJP leader highlighted a troubling development where villagers have threatened to kill outsiders seen with phones or vehicles, underscoring the region’s deteriorating security situation. Marandi urged immediate intervention from the state government and local administration to control the violence and ensure the safety of residents.
He appealed directly to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Jharkhand Police to take decisive measures. “The government must act swiftly to restore peace, deliver justice to victims, and address the root causes of this crisis,” Marandi stressed.
The BJP leader called for coordinated efforts to resolve the conflict, punish the perpetrators, and prioritize the safety and well-being of the local community.
