MGM Medical College’s Cath Lab Construction to Complete by March 2025

Long-awaited Heart Care Facility in Kolhan Region Gets Back on Track

Key Points:

  • Cath Lab construction resumes after years of delay at MGM Dimna
  • Project to provide first specialized heart care center in Kolhan
  • Health Secretary to review progress and staffing needs on December 12

JAMSHEDPUR – A state-of-the-art Cath Lab at MGM Medical College will soon provide affordable cardiac care to Kolhan residents.

The Rs 9.95 crore project faced multiple hurdles since 2004.

However, Principal Secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh has revived the initiative.

“The facility will transform heart care access in the region,” noted a medical expert.

Current Scenario

The region lacks specialized cardiac facilities currently.

Patients travel to Ranchi or Kolkata for treatment.

This causes significant financial burden on families.

Project Details

The basic building structure stands completed already.

Meanwhile, finishing work has now resumed with renewed focus.

The facility will span basement, ground and first floors.

“We expect to start operations by April 2025,” revealed a senior project official.

Future Plans

The administration plans to recruit cardiologists soon.

Moreover, advanced medical equipment procurement is underway.

On the other hand, expansion plans are being considered.

Dr. Singh will inspect progress on December 12.
