Tata Main Hospital Organizes Walkathon on World AIDS Day

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Main Hospital (TMH) observed World AIDS Day by organizing a Walkathon to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and its prevention. The event, flagged off by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services, Tata Steel, and Dr. Vinita Singh, General Manager Medical Services, Tata Steel, began at 6:30 a.m.

Walkathon Route and Highlights

The Walkathon, involving 300 participants from the medical fraternity, nursing staff, and students, commenced at TMH and passed through key locations such as Red Cross Circle before concluding at TMH. At Covid Warrior Park, nursing students performed a "Nukkad Natak" (street play) to effectively convey messages about AIDS prevention and treatment.

TMH’s Contributions to HIV Care

TMH hosts a dedicated HIV nodal center that offers comprehensive management and testing for HIV patients. The facility provides Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) on a monthly basis, enabling patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle despite their diagnosis.

Through initiatives like this Walkathon, TMH continues to emphasize community engagement and public health awareness, reaffirming its commitment to fighting the stigma around HIV/AIDS.
