JAMSHEDPUR – In the wake of assembly elections, a surge in criminal activities has gripped Jamshedpur, with three murders reported in the past week across different police jurisdictions.
Adding to the unrest, masked criminals created panic on Sunday night by firing outside the office of ice cream businessman Naveen Singh in Prakash Nagar, under the Govindpur police station area.
The incident occurred at around 9:30 PM when three assailants on a bike arrived and opened fire at Singh’s office door before fleeing the scene.
Initially thinking it was the sound of firecrackers, Singh later noticed a hole in the wall and discovered a bullet shell inside the premises.
A review of CCTV footage confirmed the firing incident, capturing the masked men in action.
Police rushed to the spot and retrieved the shell, initiating an investigation.
This marks the latest in a string of violent incidents, raising concerns over public safety and law enforcement in the city.
Authorities are working to identify the assailants and have assured heightened vigilance to curb the spate of crimes.
