MEDININAGAR – In Palamu, Jharkhand, election officials are enabling home voting for disabled and elderly citizens to ensure maximum participation in the state assembly elections.

Palamu District Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan announced that the district administration has identified 785 voters above 85 years and 445 voters with disabilities who cannot physically reach polling stations.

These individuals have been registered for home voting after confirming their limitations in reaching polling booths by November 13.

To execute this initiative, voting for these citizens will take place in phases from November 3 to November 11. Additionally, the administration received 370 applications from essential service voters, who will be provided with voting facilities at the Collectorate premises on November 9 and 10.

Furthermore, 13,565 requests have been received from election staff and personnel on duty for voting through postal ballots at specialized centers. Mr. Ranjan clarified that personnel stationed outside Palamu for election duties will vote within their current district to simplify logistics.

The Deputy Commissioner has also encouraged all eligible voters in Palamu’s five constituencies to participate in the November 13 election, contributing to a high turnout.
