Key Points:

• BJP’s Seema Jaiswal joins Congress after 20 years

• Criticizes BJP for fielding Saryu Roy in Jamshedpur West

• Expresses faith in Minister Banna Gupta’s leadership

JAMSHEDPUR – A prominent BJP social media leader in Jamshedpur has defected to the Congress party, citing disillusionment with her former party’s decisions.

Seema Jaiswal, formerly the BJP District Social Media Incharge for Mahila Morcha, has made a significant political shift.

After two decades of loyalty to the BJP, she chose to align herself with the Congress party.

Minister Banna Gupta warmly welcomed Jaiswal into the Congress fold.

He presented her with a floral garland and shawl during the joining ceremony.

Jaiswal’s decision stemmed from her dissatisfaction with the BJP’s recent actions in Jamshedpur West.

She expressed particular disappointment over the party’s choice to field Saryu Roy as a candidate.

In her view, Roy was an unsuitable choice for the constituency.

"The BJP’s decision to nominate Saryu Roy was a grave mistake," a local political analyst commented.

Moreover, Jaiswal felt that local BJP workers in Jamshedpur West were being overlooked.

This perceived neglect further solidified her resolve to switch parties.

She publicly criticized Roy, using strong words to express her disapproval.

"Roy’s treatment of workers and stance on backward classes is unacceptable," Jaiswal stated during the event.

In contrast, she praised Banna Gupta, referring to him as ‘Vikas Purush’ or the man of development.

Jaiswal pledged to work diligently for Gupta and the Congress party moving forward.

Political observers note that this defection could have significant implications for local politics.

"This move might influence other disgruntled BJP members to reconsider their allegiances," a political commentator suggested.

The Congress party, meanwhile, sees this as a boost to their local influence.

They hope Jaiswal’s experience in social media management will strengthen their online presence.

As the political landscape shifts, both parties are likely to reassess their strategies in the region.
