Key Points:

• 18 suspected dengue cases reported on Monday in Jamshedpur

• 269 confirmed cases in Kolhan, with 190 in East Singhbhum district

• Health experts call for increased public awareness and caution

JAMSHEDPUR – The city grapples with a rising number of dengue cases, prompting health officials to call for heightened public awareness and preventive measures.

On Monday, 18 suspected dengue patients were identified in Jamshedpur.

These individuals are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals across the city.

Meanwhile, the district surveillance department has collected samples from all suspected cases.

The samples have been sent to MGM Medical College’s laboratory for testing.

Results are expected to be available by Wednesday, providing crucial data on the outbreak’s extent.

Dr. Asad, the district epidemiologist, expressed concern over the increasing number of patients.

He emphasized the need for public awareness and vigilance to combat the spread of dengue.

Moreover, the Kolhan region has already confirmed 269 dengue cases this season.

Of these, a staggering 190 cases are from the East Singhbhum district alone.

This concentration of cases in one area highlights the urgent need for targeted interventions.

Health authorities are working to implement measures to control the mosquito population.

However, they stress that community participation is crucial in preventing further spread.

Residents are advised to eliminate standing water sources and use mosquito repellents.

On the other hand, hospitals are preparing to handle a potential influx of dengue patients.

As the situation evolves, local health officials continue to monitor and respond to the outbreak.
