NIT Jamshedpur Kicks Off Hindi Fortnight Celebrations

Hindi language and culture promotion event spans September 14-29

JAMSHEDPUR – National Institute of Technology embarks on a fortnight-long celebration of Hindi language and culture, featuring diverse programs and competitions.

The inauguration ceremony saw Dr. Lata Mankar as the chief guest, with Deputy Director Professor R.V. Sharma and Hindi Committee Chairman Professor Niranjan Kumar in attendance.

Professor Sharma emphasized the importance of promoting Hindi, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020.

"Hindi serves as a unifying force for our nation," remarked Dr. Mankar, urging everyone to contribute to the language’s development.

The event features an array of competitions, including debates, poetry recitals, and quizzes, spanning from September 17 to 26.

A local student expressed excitement, saying, "These celebrations offer a great platform to showcase our linguistic talents."

NIT aims to integrate Hindi into daily life, fostering a sense of national pride among students and faculty.

The fortnight-long festivities will conclude with a grand closing ceremony on September 27, 2024.

Professor Kumar provided insights into the history of Hindi Day and the fortnight-long celebrations.

Dr. Rajat Tripathi detailed the upcoming events, highlighting the diverse range of activities planned.

The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Prabhat Kumar, followed by the national anthem.
