Dr. Brihaspati Mandal abducted near Mahesh Kudar; two suspects arrested, one at large
In a shocking turn of events, Dr. Brihaspati Mandal, a respected physician from Rajnagar, was kidnapped and tragically murdered while returning home from Kunabeda.
JAMSHEDPUR – A prominent doctor from Rajnagar was abducted and killed on August 28, 2024, with two suspects in custody and one still at large.
Dr. Mandal was forcibly taken by three individuals in a white vehicle near Mahesh Kudar while on his way home from Kunabeda.
The abductors swiftly fled towards Potka after intercepting the physician’s car.
News of the kidnapping spread rapidly, prompting immediate alerts to nearby police stations.
A joint investigation was launched by Kowali and Potka police, led by in-charge Sameer Tirkey.
Authorities soon learned that the kidnappers had travelled through Deoli, leading to a lockdown of the area.
Tragically, Dr. Mandal’s body was discovered in the bushes of Shukla Bhalki before police could intervene.
Two suspects were apprehended during the subsequent police operation as they attempted to escape, both found with pistols in their possession.
One accomplice, identified as Tridev Gop, managed to evade capture and remains at large.
Law enforcement has shared Gop’s photo on social media platforms in an effort to locate him.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear as the investigation continues.
Dr. Mandal was highly respected in the region for his medical practice, operating clinics in both Kunabeda and Sijulta.
His untimely death has left the community in a state of shock and mourning, with many acknowledging his significant contributions to healthcare in the area.
