Jamshedpur Forest Division Continues Raids in Daltonganj; Three Arrested

Forest officials uncover more animal skins and forest products; smugglers reveal plans to send leopard skin to China via Myanmar.

Jamshedpur Forest Division’s team has arrested three individuals in Daltonganj as part of their ongoing crackdown on wildlife smuggling.

JAMSHEDPUR – Forest department raids in Daltonganj have led to the arrest of three people and seizure of more animal skins.

The Jamshedpur Forest Division team, led by DFO Saba Alam Ansari, conducted a series of raids in Daltonganj, resulting in the arrest of three individuals involved in wildlife smuggling.

During these raids, more animal skins and forest products were seized.

Interrogation of the smugglers has provided the department with vital information.

The smugglers disclosed that the recovered leopard skin was intended to be trafficked to China via Kolkata and Myanmar.

Earlier, two individuals were arrested from Daltonganj, leading to the apprehension of another suspect based on their information.

These individuals were reportedly involved in trafficking wild animals and their products.

The department’s investigation is also focusing on the person from Garhwa’s Bhawnathpur area who facilitated the leopard skin supply.

This individual is believed to be the mastermind behind the operation.

The team is investigating whether the leopard was trapped or poisoned, as shooting a leopard is challenging due to its ability to climb trees.

The department is also probing who treated the leopard skin.

On August 15, two people were arrested with a leopard skin, which led to further arrests on Monday of two more smugglers, Zakir and another person named Master.

Further arrests are expected as the investigation unfolds.
