DBMS College’s ‘Sawananza’ Celebrates Sawan Season in Style

Annual event draws participation from ten city colleges, featuring competitions and performances

Jamshedpur’s DBMS College of Education hosted its sixth annual ‘Sawananza’ event, celebrating the Sawan season with competitions and cultural performances.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Cultural Club of DBMS College of Education successfully organized its sixth annual ‘Sawananza’ event, featuring participation from ten city colleges.

The event kicked off with an inauguration ceremony led by DBMS College Patron Bhanumathi Neelkanthan, Secretary Sripriya Dharmarajan, and Vice Principal Dr. Monica Uppal.

Amrita Chaudhary and her students set the festive mood with a Kajari song performance.

The program included various competitions such as Pushpa Shringar (floral decoration), Chhatrakala (student art), dance, and the selection of a Sawan Queen.

Esteemed judges for the events included Anita Sahu, Purushottam Kumar, Rishita Roy, and Uma Shastri.

Vinita Kumari Hansda from DBMS College of Education clinched the first prize in the Pushpa Shringar competition.

In the Chhatrakala event, Priya Boipai and Laxmikant Sharma, also from DBMS College of Education, secured top positions.

The coveted title of Sawan Queen was awarded to Neha Nishad from DBMS College of Education.

Karim City College’s team emerged victorious in the dance competition.

The event saw participation from several institutions, including Rambha College, Swami Vivekanand College of Education, M.B.N.S Institute of Education, and Srinath College of Education, among others.

"We are thrilled with the overwhelming response and participation from colleges across the city," said Dr. Monica Uppal, who delivered the welcome speech.

The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony for all participants, with Sripriya Dharmarajan and Bhanumathi Neelkantan presenting the awards.

Program coordinator Amrita Chaudhary received recognition for her efforts in training the students.

Nistala Shailaja and Shambhavi Pukar conducted the program, while Neha Rani delivered the vote of thanks.
