JMM Ministers and MLAs to Face Funeral Processions in Kolhan – Bir Singh Budiuli

Icha Kharkai Dam Opponents to Protest Against Jharkhand Government’s Inaction

Icha Kharkai Dam Opponents held a meeting in Sarjomdih village, Rajnagar block, deciding to hold funeral processions for JMM ministers and MLAs due to their inaction on displacement issues.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Icha Kharkai Dam Opponents Union, Kolhan, convened a meeting in Sarjomdih village, Rajnagar block, with 87 affected village representatives and social workers in attendance.

The meeting, presided over by village head Sadhu Padeya, expressed anger and condemned the current Jharkhand government’s lack of decisions or proposals in favor of the displaced.

Led by Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand government had raised many expectations among the displaced, but it has failed to deliver.

During the government’s final monsoon session, a memorandum was submitted to the Tribal Advisory Council members and JMM MLAs regarding the cancellation of Kuju Dam, but only false assurances were given.

Addressing the meeting, union president Bir Singh Budiuli warned that the government is playing with the lives of the tribals, natives, raiyats, and khatiyani people by displacing them.

He highlighted that before the 2019 elections, Hemant Soren conducted struggle and change journeys in Jharkhand/Kolhan, deceiving the displaced.

Now, the union plans to hold funeral processions for Hemant Soren’s ministers and MLAs in Kolhan.

The JMM government has lost a golden opportunity to deliver justice to the tribal natives, which is unfortunate for us.

The meeting was attended by Bir Singh Budiuli, Dashkan Kudada, Suresh Soy, Reyansh Samad, Uday Bankira, Shyam Kudada, Guliya Kalundia, Birsa Godsora, Monasa Bodra, Krishna Banra, Manmohan Singhdeo, Moti Lal Samad, Sunil Gagrai, Renu Laguri, Phulmani Godsora, Nadiya Laguri, Geeta Bansingh, and other villagers.
