PATH Brings Premchand’s ‘Bade Ghar Ki Beti’ to Life on Stage

Theatrical adaptation honors legendary author on his 144th birth anniversary

PATH delivers a captivating performance of Munshi Premchand’s ‘Bade Ghar Ki Beti’ at Ramdas Bhatta Community Centre.

JAMSHEDPUR – PATH (Performing Arts Theatre) presented a theatrical adaptation of Munshi Premchand’s ‘Bade Ghar Ki Beti’ at the Ramdas Bhatta Community Centre, commemorating the author’s 144th birth anniversary.

Amitesh Kumar Singh’s adaptation captured the story’s core emotions with sensitivity and subtlety.

The play highlighted familial and social structures in Indian society, addressing issues of self-respect and relationships.

K. Darshan, an audience member, noted how the play revived Premchand’s literary heritage and resonated with personal experiences.

Mani Pradhan, Shyam Dev, and Amitesh Kumar Singh delivered standout performances in key roles.

Other cast members included Vikas Kumar, Adil, Varsha Kumari, Shailendra Kumar, Rupesh Kumar Prasad, Natasha Poddar, and L Akriti.

Alok Khurshid Alam managed the stage setup, with music by Deepesh Kumar and Sankalp Mishra.

Martin Joseph and Rupesh Prasad handled stage arrangements.

Director Shailendra Kumar’s adroit direction raised hopes for the future of theatre.

Chief guests included theatre thespian Hari Mittal, Shahzad Sagar, Arvind Tiwari, Ashok, and Sanjay Mishra.

The packed audience at the community centre thoroughly enjoyed the theatrical presentation.
