Villages Lead Blood Donation Initiatives, Break Myths About Health Effects

Nava Juwan Akhada recognized for outstanding blood donation efforts in Sundarnagar

Villages in Jharkhand are leading blood donation efforts, breaking myths about health risks, and surpassing cities in community health initiatives.

JAMSHEDPUR – The rural areas of Jharkhand are surpassing cities in blood donation, with growing awareness dispelling myths about health risks.

In a notable achievement, the Nava Juwan Akhada from Sundarnagar was honored by VVDA for collecting over 100 units of blood.

VVDA’s Rajesh Mardi awarded mementos to the organization’s officers and members in Godadih for their remarkable efforts.

Last July, Nava Juwan Akhada organized its first blood donation camp, collecting 117 units.

Rajesh Mardi, a lifelong member of VVDA Jharkhand, highlighted the challenges faced in remote villages like Godadih and praised the committee’s proactive approach in spreading awareness and organizing the successful camp.

The event was attended by notable figures including Rajaram Bhumij, Uday Mardi, Harmohan Pramanik, Durga Mardi, Sunaram Sardar, Sanjay Mardi, Bhujay Mardi, Sujit Kumar, Thakur Mardi, and Jairam Mardi.

Jamshedpur Blood Center GM Sanjay Chaudhary and other VVDA members congratulated the blood donors on this achievement.

Increasing Awareness and Participation in Blood Donation

Rajesh Mardi emphasized the significant rise in awareness about blood donation in remote villages.

Due to continuous efforts from health workers and social organizations, misconceptions about blood donation causing weakness have been eradicated.

Awareness campaigns and health camps have educated villagers on the benefits and safety of blood donation.

This has inspired people of all ages, including youth, elderly, and women, to participate actively in blood donation, seeing it as a social responsibility.

“The elders of the village are inspiring the youth to donate blood based on their experiences, while women are also playing a crucial role in this campaign,” said Mardi.

This positive shift is contributing not only to health improvements but also to strengthening the social fabric.

Villages Surpass Cities in Blood Donation

Jamshedpur Blood Center GM Sanjay Chaudhary noted that villages have now surpassed cities in terms of blood donation.

People in rural areas are embracing blood donation as a social duty, thanks to the efforts of health workers and social organizations.

Through awareness campaigns, health camps, and various programs, villagers are being educated on the safe process and benefits of blood donation.

This increased participation is seen across all demographics, from youth to the elderly.

“The myth that blood donation causes weakness has been broken,” said Chaudhary. “People now understand that donating blood not only saves lives but also benefits the donor’s health.”

The proactive involvement of villagers, including the motivation provided by elders and the active participation of women, is driving this positive change.
