Kolhan Courts to Appoint 16 New Notaries

Jamshedpur Court receives approval for 9 positions, applications open July 1

Legal practitioners with 10 years of experience eligible to apply

JAMSHEDPUR – The Kolhan region’s district and sub-divisional courts are set to appoint 16 new notaries, with the Jamshedpur Court receiving the lion’s share of 9 positions.

Nlin Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Jharkhand Legal Department, outlined the eligibility criteria:

– General category: 10 years of practice as a registered advocate

– Women, SC, and ST candidates: 7 years of practice

"Priority will be given to candidates with more experience," sources stated.

Distribution of Notary Positions:

– Jamshedpur Court: 9 positions

– Chaibasa District Court: 4 positions

– Saraikela-Kharsawan District Court: 2 positions

– Ghatshila Sub-divisional Court: 1 position

Application Process

Interested advocates can submit applications from July 1 to July 30, 2024, at the District and Sessions Judge’s office or the Presiding Officer’s office of the relevant tribunal.

Required documents:

– Treasury challan of Rs. 1000 fee

– Matriculation certificate

– Law degree certificate

– Proof of legal practice

Selection Criteria

– One point per year of additional experience beyond the minimum requirement

– In case of tied experience, preference given to candidates with more months and days of practice

"This appointment process aims to ensure the availability of qualified notaries across the Kolhan region," a court official commented.

The appointment of notaries will be subject to provisions of the Notaries Act and guidelines issued by the central and state governments.
