CGST Commissioner Reports 7.3% Increase In Kolhan Region Revenue

Officials aim for 15% growth in the coming year through improved compliance and streamlined procedures.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in Jamshedpur is on track to surpass previous records, with the Kolhan region reporting Rs 7690.38 crore for the 2023-2024 financial year.

CGST Commissioner Binod Kumar Gupta announced the figures, noting a significant increase from the previous year’s Rs 7163.35 crore.

"We’re seeing positive growth trends in tax compliance across Jamshedpur," Gupta stated in a recent interview.

While specific targets for the upcoming year are yet to be finalized, officials project a 15% increase in collections.

Gupta emphasized the department’s focus on enhancing tax compliance without resorting to legal disputes.

"Public awareness and cooperation in tax matters have notably improved, especially in Jamshedpur," the Commissioner observed.

The city’s tax collection procedures are reportedly streamlined and free from controversy, contributing to the positive outlook.

Efforts are underway to expedite tax settlements and improve coordination with the state government.

Officials aim to ensure seamless GST recovery without delays or legal complications in the coming year.

The increased collections reflect growing economic activity and improved tax administration in the region.

Local businesses have responded positively to the simplified tax procedures, contributing to the higher revenue figures.
