CHAKRADHARPUR – Chakradharpur MLA Sukhram Oraon graced a Chhau dance performance as the chief guest in Hijia village of Baipi Panchayat on Wednesday.

The annual Chhau dance program in Hijia village drew enthusiastic participation from locals and visitors alike.

"Chhau dance holds a special place in our rural cultural landscape," Oraon remarked during the event.

The MLA pledged comprehensive support for Chhau artists and promised to address any needs to promote this art form.

"We will provide whatever is necessary to encourage Chhau in every village," Oraon assured the gathering.

The event showcased the vibrant tradition of Chhau, celebrated with great fervor in the region’s rural areas.

Residents from neighboring villages joined the festivities, enjoying both the performances and the accompanying fair.

Oraon’s presence underscored the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting indigenous art forms.

The legislator was accompanied by his representative Piru Hembram and several local political figures.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha youth leader Amar Bodra was among the notable attendees at the cultural program.

Other dignitaries present included Manoj Daggle, Prabhat Mahato, Parshuram Mahato, and Sumit Kumar Mahato.

The event highlighted the cultural richness of Chakradharpur constituency and its dedication to traditional arts.
