Tata Steel Hosts Inclusive Athletics Meet for Pride Month

Transperson Employees Showcase Talent at JRD Tata Sports Complex

Company celebrates diversity through sports, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Sports Department organized an athletics meet for transperson employees at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, marking Pride Month celebrations across its locations.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 52 athletes representing Tata Steel’s units in West Bokaro, Kalinganagar, Noamundi, and Jamshedpur.

Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports at Tata Steel, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

"This meet exemplifies our commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunities for all employees," Choudhari stated during the event.

Competitions were held in various categories, including 100m and 200m races, shot put, and long jump for both trans men and women.

Anubhab Paul emerged as a standout performer, securing first place in both the 100m and 200m races for trans men.

In the trans women category, Pyarilal Hessa dominated the track events, winning both the 100m and 200m races.

The shot put events saw impressive performances from Rikhil Samal and Amir Mahato in the trans men and women categories respectively.

Kamli showcased versatility by winning the long jump for trans women and securing second place in both sprint events.

Technical officials from Tata Steel’s Athletics Training Centre ensured fair play and adherence to rules throughout the meet.

The event underscored Tata Steel’s ongoing efforts to foster an inclusive work environment and celebrate diversity.
