Jamshedpur Embraces International Yoga Day with Citywide Celebrations

Schools, hospitals and community groups organize yoga sessions promoting health and wellness

Diverse events highlight yoga’s benefits for physical and mental well-being across age groups.

JAMSHEDPUR – The steel city marked the 10th International Yoga Day with enthusiastic participation from citizens of all ages in events organized across schools, hospitals and public spaces on Thursday.

The district-level program at Sadar Hospital saw significant turnout, with similar events held at block offices, schools, and training institutes.

At Kerala Public School Burmamines, students from classes 3 to 12 performed various yoga asanas under the guidance of Principal Priyanka Barua.

"Yoga is India’s priceless gift to the world, uniting mind and body," Barua stated, urging students to make yoga an integral part of their lives.

The Telco Nagar RSS branch and BJP Govindpur Mandal jointly organized a yoga camp at Swami Sahjanand Saraswati Club, led by instructor Manilal Sharma.

BJP’s Kadma Mandal celebrated at Bal Ganpati Vilas premises, emphasizing yoga’s benefits for all age groups.

Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir in Bagbera saw enthusiastic participation from students and parents in yoga exercises and patriotic performances.

Guru Nanak School in Sakchi focused on introducing young children to yoga, with Principal Santokh Singh highlighting its importance in daily life.

The Paramhans Lakshminarayan Goswami Committee organized a session at their Bistupur center, attended by local MLA Saryu Ray.

These diverse events underscore Jamshedpur’s commitment to promoting yoga as a tool for holistic wellness across the community.
