Sanjay Mishra, a BJP leader from Chakradharpur, has been acquitted with honor by the Chaibasa court in a case of alleged sexual exploitation of a female player.
CHAKRADHARPUR – BJP leader Sanjay Mishra, also known as Buddhu Pandit, has been given a clean chit by the Chaibasa court in a case of alleged sexual exploitation of a female player.
On May 29, the court dismissed all charges against Mishra and acquitted him with honor.
Mishra held a press conference at Dilip Sao Smriti Bhawan on Old Ranchi Road on Sunday, where he claimed that he was implicated in the case as part of a political conspiracy.
Background of the Case
In October 2021, a female player from Chakradharpur filed a case against Mishra, accusing him of sexual exploitation.
Following the complaint, Chakradharpur police arrested Mishra and sent him to jail under judicial custody.
The case emerged just before the Chakradharpur Municipal Council election, which was scheduled for November-December 2021.
Mishra, who had lost the previous election by a narrow margin of 700 votes, was planning to contest the upcoming election but was unable to do so due to the case.
Mishra’s Claims of Political Conspiracy
During the press conference, Mishra alleged that he was framed in the case through a political conspiracy involving the police administration.
He claimed that the conspiracy was aimed at defaming him in society and preventing him from contesting the Nagar Parishad elections.
Mishra emphasized the devastating impact such conspiracies can have on individuals and their families, potentially leading to suicide in some cases.
Support from the Party and Confidence in Justice
Despite the challenges, Mishra stated that he remained confident in his innocence and had faith in the judiciary to deliver justice.
He expressed gratitude towards his party members for their unwavering support, which allowed him to participate in every program during the legal battle.
Mishra currently serves as the co-convenor of the BJP’s business cell.
