Community Members Join Hands to Reduce Plastic Usage with Newsprint Bags
The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur, along with the Rotary Saheli Centre and the Environment Committee, distributed 30,000 eco-friendly bags to shopkeepers in Sonari Gudri Bazar under the “No Plastic” scheme.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur took a commendable step towards reducing plastic usage and promoting environmental sustainability by distributing 30,000 newsprint bags to shopkeepers in Sonari Gudri Bazar.
These bags, made by the Rotary Saheli Centre, offer a sustainable option to plastic, supporting the club’s goal of decreasing plastic consumption and advocating for a more environmentally friendly world.
The President of the Rotary Club, Rotarian Pramod Dubey, spoke to the shopkeepers about the negative impact of plastic bags on the environment. He encouraged them to embrace sustainable practices.
Throughout the year, the Rotary Saheli Centre has generously given away a grand total of 50,000 bags, completely free of charge. This remarkable initiative showcases the club’s unwavering dedication to promoting sustainability and protecting the environment.
Many club members, including former president Gyan Taneja, Mohan Lal Agarwal, Aruna Taneja, Sunil Kumar, Vijay Vaidyanathan, Mahendra Gupta, Rohan Mehra, Sapna Das, and Pinky Kumari, came together at the distribution event to show their dedication to creating a cleaner and greener future.
