Tata Steel AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament Set to Begin at JRD Tata Sports Complex on May 6

Over 60 players from 15 states will compete in singles and doubles events during the Tata Steel AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

The prestigious JRD Tata Sports Complex is gearing up to host the Tata Steel AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2024 from May 6 to 10, showcasing India’s finest talent.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tomorrow, the JRD Tata Sports Complex will launch the second Tata Steel AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament, featuring top players from across the country.

Over 60 athletes representing 15 states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Telangana, and Assam, will compete in the Men’s Singles and Doubles events.

The draw has a 32-player main singles field, and all main matches will be played in a three-set tie-break format.

Qualifying rounds are ongoing, with final results expected this evening.

The tournament will follow the guidelines laid down by the “All India Tennis Association (AITA)”.

The Draw composition will be as follows:-

MAIN DRAW QUALIFYING DRAW

Men’s Singles 32 OPEN

Men’s Doubles 16 NA

Qualifying Draw remains open for registered players from all over the country. All matches from the Main Draw will be of 3 Tie-Break Sets.

Dev Sinha, currently ranked 130th in India, has secured his place in the main draw, while fellow Jharkhand player Priyansh Agarwal was unable to qualify.

Top-seeded V M Ranjeet, ranked 13th nationally, will participate alongside defending champion Abhinansu Borthakur.

Matches start at 7:30 a.m., with daily schedules prepared by 6 p.m.

Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, will inaugurate the tournament at 11 a.m. on May 6.

Participants will compete for points and prize money across various stages, following All India Tennis Association guidelines.
