Jugsalai Safiganj Residents Protest for Immediate Water Solution

Jugsalai Locals Demand Action on Water Crisis During Municipality Demonstration

Residents of Safiganj, led by key community leaders, staged a protest outside the Jugsalai Municipality office demanding urgent action to address a persistent water supply issue.

JAMSHEDPUR – Safiganj residents, led by community leaders Surya Pathak and Chandra Pathak, both president and secretary of the National Wing of Shaheed Thakur Ji Pathak Welfare Society, have called for immediate intervention to solve a severe water crisis that has left them struggling for 44 days, especially during significant festivals like Holi and Navratri.

The protest, involving women, children, the elderly, and youth, took place on April 20, under the auspices of the Safiganj Mohalla Committee, spotlighting the community’s desperation for basic necessities.

The locals said that despite repeated complaints to the Deputy Commissioner of Jamshedpur and the PWD officer, Mr. Sumit Kumar, the local administration has yet to take effective measures, prompting residents to block roads in a display of frustration.

“The lack of water is not just an inconvenience; it is a critical issue affecting our daily lives and hygiene,” stated Surya Pathak, president of the national wing of Shaheed Thakur Ji Pathak Welfare Society.

A local resident, Nandani Upadhyay, emphasized, “Our community suffers every day. We expect more than just promises; we need immediate solutions.”
