Cloud Cover Brings Temperature Relief to Jamshedpur, Surrounding Areas Brace for Heat Wave
Residents of Jamshedpur and nearby areas felt a momentary relief from the intense heat as cloud cover emerged, providing a shield from the sun and lowering the temperature notably by 3.7 degrees to 40.5 degrees Celsius.
JAMSHEDPUR – A welcomed cloud cover gave residents of Jamshedpur and the surrounding areas a brief respite from the severe heat on Monday, with the maximum temperature dropping to 40.5 degrees Celsius.
However, Baharagora experienced hotter conditions with a high of 43.6 degrees Celsius.
In contrast, areas like Ranchi and Gumla saw light drizzles, while Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, and several districts in central and southern Jharkhand expected rainfall until the late evening.
Wind speeds were forecast to be between 30 to 40 kilometers per hour during this period.
Meteorologist Dr. Abhishek Anand has alerted residents about a potential heat wave resurgence in the Kolhan division starting April 24, advising precautions to mitigate the impact.
In the last 24 hours, the state has endured dry conditions with Baharagora in East Singhbhum hitting the highest temperature of 46 degrees Celsius.
Godda recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature at 23.3 degrees Celsius.
Dr. Anand emphasized that a heat wave continued to affect Baharagora and nearby areas, including Jamshedpur, where temperatures soared 4.5 degrees above normal, stressing the ongoing challenge posed by elevated temperatures across the region.
