JAMSHEDPUR – Incidents involving theft and the administration of intoxicants on trains heading from Tatanagar to Bihar have recently come to light, causing distress among passengers and prompting immediate action by the Government Railway Police (GRP).

Suraj Kumar from Munger and his wife experienced a theft on the Buxar train on March 22, losing a bag with gold jewelry, a mobile phone, and cash. In a separate incident, Shravan Kumar of Nalanda was drugged on the Thawe train, leading to the theft of Rs 1600.

Following these distressing experiences, both passengers filed complaints with the GRP at Jumai and Kiyul stations in Bihar, leading to the initiation of FIRs and a thorough investigation by the Tatanagar GRP.

Authorities are now focused on identifying the culprits through CCTV footage analysis at relevant stations, demonstrating the GRP’s commitment to addressing and mitigating such crimes against train passengers.
