Basant Soren Differentiates Politics from Family

Jharkhand Minister Basant Soren addresses electoral dynamics, distinguishing them from family ties.

Basant Soren, during a Jamtara visit, distinguishes between familial relationships and electoral competition, especially concerning Sita Soren’s candidacy.

RANCHI – Basant Soren, the younger son of Shibu Soren and a notable minister in the Jharkhand government, recently offered a pointed critique of his sister-in-law, Sita Soren, amidst electoral preparations for the Dumka Lok Sabha seat.

During his visit to Jamtara, Basant Soren addressed the complex interplay between familial relations and political engagements, specifically regarding Sita Soren’s run for office.

He stressed that while Sita Soren holds a familial role at home, such connections do not translate into the political realm.

Countering the narrative that Sita Soren was undervalued within the party and family, Basant highlighted her respected status, evidenced by her 15-year tenure as a three-time MLA.

Moreover, Basant Soren questioned the timing and motive behind Sita Soren’s recent demand for a CBI inquiry into Durga Soren’s death, suggesting that her tenure as MLA had ample opportunity to voice such concerns.

Regarding comments made by Godda MP Nishikant Dubey about a possible split within the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Basant chose not to engage, dismissing them as mere personal opinions.
