Kolhan Gurudwaras to Celebrate Baisakhi as Khalsa Creation Day

The Central Gurdwara Management Committee confirms Baisakhi festivities in Kolhan on 13th April, aligning with the Nanakshahi calendar.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Central Gurdwara Management Committee has announced that Baisakhi, also known as Khalsa Creation Day, will be celebrated in all Gurudwaras across Kolhan on Saturday, 13th April.

This decision comes after consultations with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in Amritsar and a review of the Nanakshahi calendar.

Sardar Bhagwan Singh, the head of the committee, emphasized the importance of celebrating with religious faith and devotion.

Amarjeet Singh and Gurcharan Singh Billa, general secretaries, have informed all Gurudwara committees of the celebration date.

Preparations are underway in Sakchi, Mango, Wire Company, Sonari, Tuiladungari, Jugsalai, and Kitadih for the festive day.

Baisakhi is revered by the Sikh community as it marks the New Year and the creation of the Khalsa.

The day will be celebrated with Sabad-Kirtan, decorations, and community gatherings in Gurudwaras.

Following the tradition, Kadha Prasad will be distributed and Atut Langar served to the Sangat after the observance.

This celebration is a testament to the vibrant culture and religious devotion of the Sikh community in Kolhan.
