Jamshedpur Theatre Festival at Tulsi Bhawan Hosts Devotional Drama

Devotional play "Raghunath Ji Ke Gawahi" enchants audiences at Bhojpuri Drama Festival.

Second day of the 8th Bhojpuri Drama Festival brings powerful performances in devotional and comedy dramas.

JAMSHEDPUR – The 8th Bhojpuri Drama Festival, celebrated with enthusiasm in Jamshedpur, showcased a remarkable theatrical adaptation of "Raghunath Ji Ke Gowahi" on its second day.

Shri Mahendra Prasad Singh took the helm with his adept Bhojpuri translation, directing, and conceptualization of the play, bringing God himself to court in a narrative that moved the audience deeply.

Approximately 16 talented artists, including Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, Mahendra Prasad Singh, and Soumitra Verma, delivered compelling performances that resonated emotionally with viewers.

Their portrayal was enhanced by melodious songs and music, making the experience unforgettable for those in attendance.

The first comedy, "Lance Naik Khub Singh," penned by Dr. Rasik Bihari Ojha "Nirbhik," featured Anuj Prasad and a strong ensemble cast, winning the audience’s hearts with humor and captivating acting.

The festival, a collaborative effort between the theater organization dedicated to Bhojpuri theatre in New Delhi, the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and local supporters, underlined the rich cultural tapestry of the region.

This unique celebration of Bhojpuri theatre was made possible through the special support of Singhbhum District Hindi Sahitya Sammelan and Suga Ventures Pvt. Ltd., highlighting the vibrant local arts scene.

The dedication of all involved showcased the depth and diversity of Bhojpuri performing arts, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
