JAMSHEDPUR – Health Minister Banna Gupta has praised the recently announced state budget as a strategic move to enhance Jharkhand’s healthcare system and support marginalized communities.

The budget, with a special focus on healthcare, allocates Rs 7,230 crore to the sector for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Gupta outlined the government’s plan to establish a Medico City in Jharkhand, aiming to make comprehensive healthcare services more accessible.

Additionally, the opening of a new medical college in Ranchi is expected to further boost the state’s healthcare infrastructure.

Efforts to strengthen the Ranchi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) were also highlighted, with plans for new resources and appointments.

The budget includes measures to empower women and girls, promoting higher education and development.

With an allocation of Rs 8,021 crore for women’s health, the budget plans to distribute essential kits to 6 lakh women.

These kits, containing mosquito nets, soap, buckets, and mugs, aim to support the well-being of mothers and children.

Gupta’s endorsement of the budget underscores the government’s commitment to fostering prosperity and dignity for all residents.
