Jamshedpur Hosts Grand Classic and Vintage Car & Bike Rally

Steel City witnesses a splendid display of classic and vintage vehicles in its 3rd annual rally.

Steel City came alive as a large crowd gathered at Gopal Maidan for the 3rd Jamshedpur Classic and Vintage Car & Bike Rally, marking the 185th Founder’s Day celebrations.

JAMSHEDPUR – Gopal Maidan buzzed with excitement as around 160 classic and vintage vehicles, dating from 1926 to 1985, captivated audiences in the lead-up to the 185th Founder’s Day celebrations.

The rally, set to commence tomorrow morning, will be flagged off by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, alongside senior company officials and key stakeholders.

Vehicles from Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Punjab are participating, showcasing the rich automotive heritage of these regions.

The route will cover iconic landmarks like Bharucha Mansion and Jubilee Park, offering a glimpse into Jamshedpur’s heritage over a 23-km journey.

Initiated in 2022 by Tata Steel to celebrate India’s sports, arts, and culture, the rally aims to become a marquee event nationally, with participation growing annually.

A highlight of this year’s rally is the participation of a 1926 Austin 7, affectionately known as Baby Austin, among vintage car enthusiasts.

The rally was first held in 2022 to honor the legacy of Tata Group’s founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, during the 183rd Founder’s Day celebrations.

Rally Route and Landmarks

Participants will traverse significant sites like Keenan Stadium and St. George’s Church, enhancing the rally’s cultural footprint.

Growing Popularity

The increasing number of entries each year reflects the rally’s rising prominence as a cornerstone event in India’s celebration of classic and vintage vehicles.
