Jamshedpur Labor Rally Highlights Workers’ Concerns

Prominent Union Leaders Gather to Discuss Labor Rights Under New Laws

In Jamshedpur, a significant rally led by key union leaders highlighted ongoing concerns about labor rights, with a focus on the implications of new labor laws perceived to undermine worker freedoms.

JAMSHEDPUR – Under the guidance of Raghunath Pandey, a renowned union leader, Jamshedpur recently witnessed a large gathering of workers rallying for their rights.

The rally, orchestrated by the National INTUC Metal Federation and Jharkhand Aam Mazdoor Union, concluded with a tribute at the statue of Netaji Subhash Bose in Sakchi Mango Garden.

During the assembly, Raghunath Pandey voiced serious concerns regarding the recent implementation of four new labor laws, which he claimed risk reverting unorganized workers to conditions akin to bonded labor.

Pandey vowed to escalate efforts to secure labor rights post-elections, stressing the historical importance of May 1 as a day commemorating the emancipation of workers from oppressive conditions.

The event was attended by several prominent union figures including Gopal Jaiswal, CD S Krishna, and Kamal Kishore Aggarwal, among others, all united in their call for safeguarding workers’ rights.

This gathering underscores a growing movement among workers to challenge and potentially reverse the perceived restrictive measures imposed by the new legislation.
