JAMSHEDPUR – The district of East Singhbhum is set to witness a significant event as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Champai Soren, is scheduled to distribute acceptance letters to the beneficiaries of the Abua Housing Scheme on 09 February.

This initiative is part of the state government’s commitment to providing permanent housing and basic amenities to rural families living in kutcha houses or without homes.

Officials from various departments attended a preparatory meeting led by District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Shri Majunath Bhajantri, who emphasized the importance of coordination and timely completion of arrangements.

The meeting covered a wide range of preparations, including law and order maintenance, beneficiary movement, seating arrangements, parking, and transportation logistics.

Specific directives were issued for the proper arrangement of mobile toilets, drinking water, and cleanliness at the event venue, ensuring a smooth experience for all attendees.

The ceremony will see the release of the first installment of funds directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through DBT, marking a pivotal step in their journey towards secure housing.

Beneficiaries from all three districts of Kolhan division are expected to participate in this divisional level event, highlighting the widespread impact of the scheme.

The Abua Housing Scheme aims to reach 2,92,624 families across the division, with the initial phase benefiting 24,827 individuals by providing them with financial assistance in four installments.

A total of Rs 2.00 lakh per housing unit will be allocated under this scheme, including provisions for toilet construction in collaboration with Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM) or other dedicated sources.
