Archery Coach Purnima Mahato Felicitated in Sonari for Padma Shri Award
Purnima Mahato, celebrated for her contributions to archery, was felicitated by the East Singhbhum Archery Association in Sonari, acknowledging her Padma Shri award.
JAMSHEDPUR – Numerous local archers and community members gathered to celebrate the felicitation of Purnima Mahato by East Singhbhum Archery Association President Dinesh Kumar in Sonari.
The ceremony, marked by traditional honors including a bouquet, shawl, bodysuit, and garland, was a testament to Mahato’s achievements.
Dinesh Kumar, during his address, commended Mahato for her role in elevating Jamshedpur’s stature in archery, bringing glory to the city from her humble beginnings in Birsanagar.
He lauded the Central Government’s decision to award Mahato the Padma Shri, noting her significant impact in training archers who have represented India internationally.
The occasion saw the presence of notable personalities like Amarjit Singh Raja, JG Banerjee (Bapi Da), Gopal Singh, and others, showcasing the community’s pride in Mahato’s accomplishments.
Purnima Mahato, a recipient of the Dronacharya Award, was congratulated with sweets, symbolizing the sweetness of her success.
Attendees like Raj Aditi Kumari, Kaushal Lal, Rohan Kumar Mukhi, Anshuman Singh, Divanshu Chandravanshi, Ramu Liangi, Krishna Tuddu, Sahil Sahu, among others, added to the event’s grandeur.
