Tata Steel Foundation’s Johar Haat Marks a Year of Tribal Art Promotion
Discover a year of tribal art and culture with Johar Haat in Jamshedpur, a Tata Steel Foundation initiative celebrating its first anniversary with a weeklong event.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur witnessed the commencement of the weeklong celebrations at Johar Haat today.
This initiative, hosted by Tata Steel Foundation, aims to promote tribal art and culture.
Celebrating its first year, Johar Haat has brought over 120 participants from 15 tribes, engaging more than 6000 enthusiasts.
Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation, expressed gratitude towards tribal communities and partners for their support in this journey.
Johar Haat’s anniversary celebration features eight tribal shops showcasing artistry, healing traditions, and cuisine.
Monthly events at Johar Haat offer interactions with tribal craftsmen, artisans, healers, and home cooks from the 14th to 20th every month.
Workshops and tribal paintings from Jharkhand are highlights of the celebration.
The weeklong event includes tribal music, film screenings, jewellery making, and tribal cuisine preparation.
Participants from Jharkhand, West Bengal, Nagaland, and Ladakh will present diverse tribal arts.
Collaborating with MAXI Fair by XLRI, Johar Haat’s January edition will further showcase tribal culture.
Johar Haat was recently part of the Jamshedpur Carnival at Gopal Maidan.
