Scott Cooper Blames Lack of Desire for Jamshedpur FC’s Defeat

Jamshedpur FC Coach Scott Cooper Criticizes Team’s Performance and Desire

Scott Cooper, Jamshedpur FC’s coach, reflects on a disappointing defeat, emphasizing the need for player desire and commitment to win.

JAMSHEDPUR – Following a disappointing defeat at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium against Bengaluru FC, Jamshedpur FC’s coach Scott Cooper faced the media, expressing his concerns about the team’s performance and mindset.

Cooper acknowledged that while the score was deserved, Bengaluru FC didn’t tactically outplay his team.

He lamented the lack of intensity and desire in his players, stating that the team only showed real drive in the final 10 minutes of the match.

Cooper emphasized the need for players with a genuine desire to win, hinting at potential changes in the January transfer window.

He expressed sympathy for players who performed well but were let down by teammates lacking commitment and desire.

Cooper critiqued the overall quality of the game, describing it as more akin to a tennis match due to Bengaluru’s long-ball tactics.

He was disappointed by the lack of crafty football, with most chances stemming from second balls and long passes, likening it to an English third-division team’s play.

On Bengaluru’s new coach, Cooper downplayed the immediate impact, suggesting that the coach’s influence wouldn’t be seen until later in the season.

He also commented on the performance of his striker, Chima, acknowledging the pressure on him and the need for better support and opportunities.

Cooper concluded by stressing the importance of character and desire in his players, as Jamshedpur FC prepares for their next game in Hyderabad, hoping to turn their fortunes around.
