Tata Steel Foundation’s Samvaad 2023 to Celebrate Tribal Heritage with Over 2500 Delegates
City to discover the vibrant fusion of tribal culture and wisdom at Samvaad 2023 in Jamshedpur, an event by Tata Steel Foundation uniting over 2500 representatives from 150+ tribes.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Steel Foundation is setting a new benchmark in celebrating tribal culture with its tenth edition of Samvaad, scheduled to commence on November 15, 2023, at various locations in Jamshedpur.
This year’s theme, ‘Walk with Me,’ encapsulates the decade-long journey of Samvaad, fostering dialogues and ideas amongst India’s tribal communities.
Samvaad 2023, in honor of Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary, will begin at Gopal Maidan with a traditional performance featuring 351 nagadas, dhols, and other instruments.
The event, spread across five venues including Gopal Maidan and the Tribal Culture Centre, offers an immersive experience into tribal life and practices.
Samvaad’s cloud kitchen at Johar Haat, in collaboration with Zomato, will deliver traditional tribal cuisines, enriching the home dining experience.
At the TSF Community Hall, a healer’s workshop offers insights into the traditional healing practices of various tribes.
The Jamshedpur Nature Trail will host film screenings and artisan workshops, providing a platform for tribal artisans to showcase their skills.
Over 40,000 individuals from 200+ tribes and 17 countries have engaged in Samvaad, exploring tribal development narratives and cultural celebrations.
Samvaad 2023 features 350+ tribal changemakers from the Tribal Leadership Programme, sharing their impactful journeys and experiences.
The conclave will also host 42 stalls by 110 artisans, exhibiting 28 art forms from 37 tribal communities, along with interactive workshops and expert sessions.
With 170 tribal healers and 140 home chefs, Samvaad offers a blend of traditional healing and culinary experiences, while more than 50 musicians from various tribes will perform at the event.
