South Eastern Railway adds extra coaches to major trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja, enhancing passenger capacity and convenience during the festive rush.

JAMSHEDPUR – South Eastern Railway is set to enhance travel experiences for passengers during the festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja.

The railway authority has announced the addition of extra coaches in various trains to accommodate the increasing crowd of passengers.

Starting Friday, three trains originating from and passing through Tatanagar will see a boost in capacity with four additional coaches.

These enhancements include one chair car and one third AC coach in the Tatanagar-Ara Express, and one sleeper coach in the Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Express.

The Bhubaneswar-Delhi Rajdhani Express will also receive an additional third AC coach, further expanding its passenger capacity.

The South East Zone has issued an order stating these extra coaches will be installed in both trains by November 14th.

This initiative is not just limited to Tatanagar; additional coaches are being installed in several trains from Ranchi, Hatia, Rourkela, Howrah, and Puri stations until November 14.

The move aims to ensure passengers, especially those with waiting list tickets, can find seats and travel comfortably during this peak travel period.

Notably, an extra third AC coach has been added to the Puri-Rishikesh Utkal Express from November 5, and the Howrah to Shirdi Sai SF Express also received an extra coach on Thursday, benefiting many passengers boarding from Tatanagar.

This proactive step by the South Eastern Railway addresses the high demand during the festive season, ensuring a more pleasant and convenient journey for thousands of travelers.
