Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra Joins Summit on Legal Challenges, Hosted by Jamshedpur Judiciary
Experts discuss the nuances of remand and bail, stressing on ‘Bail is rule, jail is exception,’ in a conference attended by top legal minds of Jharkhand.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Judiciary and District Administration partnered with the Jharkhand Judicial Academy to organize a regional conference on remand and bail jurisprudence.
The conference took place on Sunday in the auditorium of Loyola School, Jamshedpur.
Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, graced the event through a video conferencing session.
A range of legal experts, including Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad of the Jharkhand High Court, Principal District and Sessions Judges from various parts of the state, police officers from Seraikela-Kharsawan and Chaibasa districts, and senior advocates from Ghatshila, participated.
Justice Prasad provided an in-depth discussion on the principle that ‘Bail is rule, jail is exception.’
The conference also delved into the duties and responsibilities of the police under Sections 41 and 41A of the IPC.
Furthermore, adherence to guidelines set forth by the Supreme Court in Satendra Kumar Antil vs. CBI 2023 and Arness Kumar vs. State of Bihar was examined.
