Rains didn’t dampen the spirits of Bholenath devotees who thronged Shiva temples for the fifth Monday Jalabhishek ritual of Sawan.
JAMSHEDPUR – Braving the rains, devotees turned out in droves for the Jalabhishek ritual at Shiva temples across the city on the fifth Monday of the holy month of Sawan.
Fervor was in the air as chants of "Om Namah Shivay" and "Bam Bam Bhole" echoed through temples in Jugsalai, Bistupur, Sakchi, Kadma, and Telco.
Devotees began to gather from the early morning hours, braving the chill to participate in the rites and prayers.
The atmosphere was redolent with incense and the air filled with harmonious hymns.
Devotees brought offerings of milk, flowers, and holy water as they sought divine blessings.
The ritual of abhishek, a ceremonial wash of the holy idols with milk, honey, and curd, was performed by devotees with utmost reverence, the intensity reflecting their undying faith.
Priests, clad in traditional attire, presided over the ceremonies, guiding devotees through the rituals and explaining the spiritual significance of each act.
Apart from the rituals, spiritual discourses and bhajan sessions were held in temples and community centers.
Prominent scholars and spiritual leaders illuminated the teachings of ancient texts, discussing the essence of devotion and the path to spiritual emancipation.
