Hospital Staffing Concerns:

The inspection found outsourced staff absent from their duties, leading the hospital superintendent to issue immediate orders to ensure contract workers are available to work on Sundays as well. Deputy Commissioner Jadhav emphasized the importance of the hospital running at full capacity on Sundays due to the significant patient load from all three districts of the Kolhan division.

Infrastructure Issues and Patient Feedback:

The surprise visit also shed light on poorly maintained areas in the hospital, prompting directives for improved cleaning procedures.

The current infrastructure improvement projects were evaluated, and issues highlighted by the executive agency were noted for immediate attention.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with patients and their attendants in the emergency ward, soliciting feedback on food quality, cleanliness, frequency of medical rounds, and linen change regularity.

Action Plan Post-Inspection:

Post-inspection, Deputy Commissioner Jadhav ordered the swift demolition of several dilapidated structures within the hospital premises.

A committee was also formed to carry out an auction for redundant equipment like stretchers and outdated furniture.

Addressing the media, she stressed the district administration’s effort to monitor MGM Hospital more closely. She mentioned the hospital’s inspection team now reports to her office twice daily and asserted her commitment towards the regular review and enhancement of medical facilities at MGM Hospital.
