Rising Snakebite Cases in Monsoon: Jamshedpur Couple Latest Victims

JAMSHEDPUR – The onset of the monsoon season has seen an uptick in snakebite incidents in the area.

The latest incident occurred in Parvatipur under the jurisdiction of the RIT police station in Seraikela district.

Late at night, a couple was bitten by a snake.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the husband, 53-year-old Beranchi Mahato, died during treatment.

The rate of fatalities due to snakebite significantly increases during the monsoon season.

In this instance, a venomous snake bit Beranchi Mahato and his wife, Anjana Mahato.

Family members quickly transported the unconscious couple to MGM hospital and killed the snake.

The son of the deceased reported that the incident took place late at night.

In their rush to save the couple, they couldn’t find the medication requested by the doctors due to it being late at night.

The next morning, Beranchi passed away, and his wife Anjana’s condition remains critical.
