Seven Bulls Dead in Accident, Cattle Smuggling Operation Continues on Jharkhand-Odisha Border

Seven bulls were killed and seven more injured when a truck smuggling cattle lost control and crashed on the Jharkhand-Odisha border near Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – A severe accident unfolded at Jamsola bridge on Bahragora NH 49, located on the Jharkhand-Odisha border, when a truck smuggling cattle lost control and ran over a herd of bulls on Saturday morning. The incident led to the immediate death of seven bulls, while seven others sustained severe injuries.

Immediate Aftermath

The injured bulls have been transported to a nearby veterinary hospital for treatment. Following the accident, the smugglers who were transporting the bulls managed to escape from the scene. The incident occurred as the smugglers were attempting to clandestinely move the bulls towards Bengal across the Jamsola border.

Villagers Demand Action

In response to the accident, local villagers have staged a blockade on NH 49. The community is demanding an immediate halt to cattle smuggling along the aforementioned route. It is a known path for cattle smugglers who frequently use it to move cattle from Jharkhand towards Bengal.
