AJSU Party Protest against Rising Corruption and Economic Slavery in Kolhan

Kolhan has become a puppet in the hands of ruling party, says AJSU Party leaders in a public demonstration.

JAMSHEDPUR – The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Party organized a one-day sit-in and demonstration today, Thursday, 13th July 2023, at the Jugsalai Municipal Council office.

The program started as a procession from the AJSU office at Jugsalai.

Wreaths were laid on the statue of late Babu Veer Kunwar Singh before the procession sat for a dharna in front of the Municipal Council office.

AJSU Party’s Jugsalai Municipal Council President Tanveer Alam alias Raju presided over the program with Sanjay Karua leading the operation.

Union Principal General Secretary and former Minister Ramchandra Sahis, who was the chief guest, highlighted that the separate state establishment by former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee was to ensure the development of poor and deprived tribal people.

However, he pointed out the unfortunate fate of the state when it’s exploited by the father-son government who promotes corruption and self-interest over public welfare.

The AJSU Party’s District President, Kanhaiya Singh, expressed his concern over the rising corruption in the Jugsalai Municipal Council, attributing it to the state’s ruling party.

He stressed that despite the lack of basic facilities for the deprived population, the politicians continue to amass wealth.

Among other speakers, District in-charge cum Central Secretary Prof. Ravi Shankar Maurya argued that the ruling party has politically, socially, and economically enslaved Kolhan.

He also called out the local MLA and his chiefs for their rampant corruption in increasing holding taxes from traders, misappropriation of funds allocated for health crises, and the lack of pure drinking water and basic services.
