In a wave of increased thefts in Jamshedpur, thieves hit a temple close to the police station and locals apprehend two culprits at Samta Nagar.
JAMSHEDPUR – A surge of thefts is causing concern among the residents of Jamshedpur.
In recent incidents, the thieves are getting audacious, targeting different police station areas throughout the city.
The latest case occurred in the Mango police station area, where thieves burglarized the Bada Hanuman temple, situated just 200 meters away from the police station.
The thieves entered the temple by shattering the glass gate, broke open the donation box, and absconded with around 50 to 60 thousand rupees in cash.
The audacity of the theft at such a sacred place has incited anger among the local population.
Simultaneously, a different incident unfolded in Samta Nagar, where local people caught two thieves red-handed.
The culprits were attempting to flee after breaking into a closed house near Mango Samta Nagar Road No. 15 gas godown.
The vigilant locals apprehended the culprits and handed them over to the police.
The suspects had allegedly cut the window of the house two days earlier, which was later repaired.
However, suspicious activity was noticed since yesterday afternoon.
This morning, the two thieves were spotted trying to escape from the house, and the locals managed to nab them with the help of ₹20000 cash, a mobile phone, and an Aadhar card.
The suspects, identified as A Ansari and A Alam, have been handed over to the police.
