Signature Campaign Continues to Demand Road Reconstruction: Zila Parishad Member Purnima Mallick

Jamshedpur’s Zila Parishad member Purnima Mallick continues a signature campaign demanding the reconstruction of dilapidated roads in Parsudih, Harharguttu, Bedadhipa and Ranidih areas.

JAMSHEDPUR – Despite submitting a demand letter to the Executive Engineer in the Road Construction Department for the reconstruction of decaying roads, Zila Parishad member Purnima Mallick has seen no action.

Mallick launched a signature campaign on June 25, 2015, in response to the ongoing lack of road maintenance. The campaign, which ran most recently at Pramod Nagar Loknath Bhavan on July 2, will continue at various square intersections throughout the city.

Mallick stated that the roads are not fit for traffic, causing daily road accidents. Among the most concerning areas are the routes from Golpahari turn to Shitla Chowk, Shankarpur to Govindpur, and Shitla Chowk to Sundernagar Canal via Siddha-Kanhu Chowk, among others.

"Seva Hi Lakshya NGO President Manik Malik said that despite the delivery of the demand letter for road construction, there has been no repair. The signature campaign started on June 25, yet the road was not constructed. We will conduct the signature campaign in the Chowk intersection from time to time," warns of a movement.

Supporters of the campaign include Manik Malik, Sujit Chakraborty, Biltu Sarkar, Supriyo Das, Reena Chatterjee, Motilal Bera, Raja Sharma, Kalu Trivedi, along with many workers from Seva Hi Lakshya and local residents.
