Historic First: Entire Cricket World Cup To Be Hosted By India

In a first, the entire Cricket World Cup will take place in India. The grandeur kicked off with the trophy being sent to the stratosphere.

DESK – In an unprecedented event in cricket history, India is set to host the entire World Cup.
The ongoing qualifier round in Zimbabwe for the ODI World Cup has reached a thrilling stage, setting the pace for the main event scheduled for October-November in India.

The ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour was launched grandly, with the trophy making a spectacular landing at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In a unique initiative, the trophy was sent to the stratosphere, 120,000 feet above the earth, attached to a special stratospheric balloon.

Remarkable shots of the trophy were captured using 4K cameras.

The 2023 ODI World Cup trophy tour is set to be the most extensive ever, connecting fans from around the globe.

Commencing from India on June 27, the trophy tour will traverse 18 countries including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, USA, Nigeria, Uganda, France, and Italy.

This initiative provides cricket fans worldwide the opportunity to partake in the celebration during this landmark event.

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardyce emphasized the significance of the World Cup Trophy Tour as a milestone, mentioning planned meetings with state heads, launch of community initiatives, and visits to iconic global locations.

He expressed the intent to reach out to as many of cricket’s billion fans worldwide as possible.

The excitement for cricket is palpable throughout the country, stated BCCI Secretary Jai Shah.
He voiced the anticipation of hosting the ten best teams in the World and kickstarted the countdown to the World Cup.

The Trophy Tour provides fans a unique chance to participate in the event, irrespective of their location.
