Family members accuse hospital staff of negligence following the death of a premature newborn at Sadar Hospital in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic incident at Sadar Hospital caused uproar as a newborn baby passed away, triggering accusations of medical negligence from the distraught family.

Mangal Manjhi, a resident of Odisha, had brought his wife, Priya Manjhi, to the hospital for delivery.

Given the critical condition of the woman, the doctors acted swiftly to safely deliver the baby.

However, weighing just one thousand grams and being only six and a half months old, the baby was significantly weaker than average.

Due to this, he was immediately admitted to the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU).

Unfortunately, due to his severe condition, the newborn passed away after a short time.

The death of the baby led to chaos in the hospital, with relatives accusing the staff of causing a delay in admitting the patient, which they believe led to the tragic outcome.

Home guard soldiers stationed at the hospital had to intervene to calm the family members down.

According to the doctors, the baby was delivered prematurely and was also in a breech position.

Adding to this, they revealed that the woman had not undergone any ultrasonography after becoming pregnant, and there was no antenatal care (ANC) inquiry either.

With a significantly low heartbeat, the newborn’s condition was critically poor from the start, which ultimately led to his death.
