Four-Hour Power Outage at MGM Hospital, Jamshedpur, Following MCB Fire

A fire in the Main Circuit Breaker (MCB) at MGM Hospital caused a four-hour-long power outage on Monday, severely affecting three main blocks of the hospital.

JAMSHEDPUR – Monday morning at the MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur was marked by a power failure lasting approximately four hours.

The incident was triggered by a fire in the Main Circuit Breaker (MCB) of the Outpatient Department (OPD), resulting in an extended interruption to the electricity supply in three major blocks of the hospital.

The affected blocks included the OPD, the emergency department, and the administrative buildings, all of which are connected to the MCB situated in the OPD.

This power outage, caused by a short circuit in the MCB wiring, led to considerable inconvenience for both patients and doctors alike.

In the midst of sweltering heat, the halls filled with patients became unbearable due to the lack of power.

Nevertheless, the medical staff continued their duty, conducting patient examinations with the help of torchlight.

Dr. Nakul Chowdhary, the hospital’s superintendent, commented on the situation, stating that repair work on the MCB was underway.

He expressed his concern about the issue and pledged to communicate with JUSCO management, the hospital’s electricity provider, to prevent such occurrences in the future.
